The Vasa Museum
We went to the Vasa Museum in Stockholm Sweden. The Vasa is a ship that got discovered in 1961 after 333 long years of being on the bottom of the harbor. The Vasa sunk on the 10 of August 1628 on it’s maiden (1st) voyage. It didn’t get far until two big gusts of wind set it off balance. The reason why it sunk was because the open ‘holes’ that held the cannon were open to show people how fierce they are , with the gusts of wind water started pouring in the lower deck. Many people that were sailing the Vasa wanted to get out of the ship but they had to help try to take out the cannons and close the hatch. About 32 people died out of 450!!!!!
The Vasa only got 1,200 meters until it sank. 98% of the ship is original. More then 500 sculptures are on the ship. it is the biggest ship wreck in the world that has been restored. I am really glad that we went there.
