Storholmen Island

Storholmen Island

After traveling to Stockholm (Sweden) from the south west region in Sweden called Skån, we got out at the main train station in Stockholm and went to the dock and got on a boat that went to Storholmen. The boat was the only way to and from the island. There were no stores, no cars, just about 100ish homes. Since it had rained on the Island, there were a lot of slugs and snails out. The house was called “Minhus” which means mine house because it had two old sea mines in front of it, which were placed there by the previous owner, a sea captain. The next day we went back to Stockholm, so that we could see the attractions in the city.

On the last full day on Storholmen, we had to stay on the island because it was pouring. (and we wanted a day to relax) The current owner of the “Minhus” had dropped of a bag full of toy and puzzles for us to play with and we had fun figuring out how to play some of them. When my dad started getting ready to go for a run, Josie and I decided that we would go with him. On the island there is a loop that went around the middle of the island, so thats where we ran. Josie did one lap and I did four (one lap was about 0.67 miles) Great job Josie!!! It was raining most of the time so I got soaked but had a blast running with my dad and Josie. After one more night in Storholmen, we left to go to Helsinki (Finland). I really liked the island of Storholmen and I would definitely recommend it.
