Top Activities In Ba Na Hills

We had a really fun time in Vietnam! We spent a month traveling from north to south. While staying in De Nang (central Vietnam) one of our favorite day was spending a day at Ba Na Hills!! It resembles a mini French Village with cobbled streets, a cathedral, houses, restaurants and a castle. But it also has an entertainment park, temples, gardens and other fun attractions.

To head to the top of Bana Hills there are 5 different cable cars. The longest one is around 20 minutes. The cable cars hold several Guinness world records: the longest one-wire sling, the greatest elevation between stations, the longest unpatched wire, and the heaviest cable roll in the world. It’s a gorgeous ride above a tropical forest with waterfalls and lush green. The first stop is at the Golden Bridge (or as we called it, the “hand bridge”), which is a famous bridge is held by giant hands. It is a wonderful golden bridge and the fingers loom over you with some fake moss. At the hand bridge, we saw 3 bridal parties with beautiful dresses taking pictures on the Golden Bridge, as well as plenty of Instagrammers.

It was all foggy when we got to the hand bridge.

When we were on the cable car, the sky was full of fog. It looked like we were going up into the fog itself because we could only see like 5 feet ahead of us!! It was foggy almost all day, which limited the view of the valley below.

When you get to the top of the hill, there are many activities. Here are the top attractions in Ba Na Hills:

  1. We started with the Rapid Alpine Coaster. It is a racing track that has little cars that there is a breck and a go lever. At around 9 am, the tour buses start arriving and the it gets busy, the alpine coasters got SUPER busy!! We got on the top of the hill at around 8 am and were early so it wasn’t too busy yet! So our pro tip: go early and you can basically walk to the front of the line!

  2. After the alpine coaster, we went to Fantasy World. It is a 3 floor arcade area with many games for 3+ year olds. There are so many fun arcade games and they are all for free. They also have some 3D rides, shooting games, playgrounds and rock climbing. We spent over 4 hours total there. Everyone in our family had a lot of fun: mommy and daddy had fun playing many of the games, including some old schoolers like Pac Man and Donkey Kong.

  3. There is also a Wax museum. It has wax statues of kings, queens, famous actors and many more!!! You have to pay extra and we decided not to visit it as there were so many other things to do.

  4. Dining: There is also many varieties of food with many types of restaurants and bars. You can also bring your own lunch if you want to. We brought cookies, spicy peas and bought some sausages for lunch!! It was yummy.

  5. There are also some hotels that you can stay for a couple of nights. We walked by some and saw the inside when some people were cleaning. They are sort of like little cabins and there is either 2 single beds or 2 bunk-beds. They have a nice view if it is a sunny day. While we didn’t stay there, I bet it would be fun to walk around Bana Hills early in the morning or at night when all the day visitors are gone!

  6. We walked around the temples and many gardens, some were hidden and nobody else was around. It was fun to explore and walk around between the trips to fantasy world!

When we were starting to leave, we saw them rehearsing for a Christmas event that they will do very soon. It had elfs, reindeer, Santas, Elsa (a version that did not look anything like her in the actual Frozen movie!!), and the king of Arendel. They were dancing and they even closed off a section of it so that they could rehearse!!

It was a blast! We were one of the first people to arrive at Ba Na Hills and also one of the last ones on the cable cars down.

We had a wonderful time in Ba Na Hills and would definitely recommend it to everybody!!
