4 months in Mexico π²π½
It has been about 5 months since our flights from Denver to Merida were canceled and we decided to buy a car and drive south instead. It has been 4 months since we crossed over the border at Nogales into Mexico.
So far, we have stayed in 15 different cities/towns! Here is the breakdown of our itinerary:
San Carlos β‘οΈ Mazatlan β‘οΈ Sayulita β‘οΈ Nuevo Vallarta β‘οΈ Tequilla β‘οΈ San Miguel de Allende β‘οΈ Oaxaca de Juarez β‘οΈ Puerto Escondido β‘οΈ Huatulco β‘οΈ San Cristobal de las Casa β‘οΈ Palenque β‘οΈ Merida β‘οΈ Valladolid β‘οΈ Holbox β‘οΈ Puerto Morelos
Puerto Morelos
They were all very unique and fun to explore. Some of them we planned the right amount of time, but most of the towns we felt we wanted to have stayed longer to explore better, making a list of places to return one day!
Whale watching in Puerto Escondido
From the cultural cities of Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, and Merida; to the paradisiacal beaches in Holbox; and the historic sites of Monte Alban, Palenque and Chichen Itza; and the more well known/touristy places like Nuevo Vallarta, Mazatlan and Puerto Escondido; to the laid back beach vibes of Mazunte and Sayulita, Mexico has so much to offer!!!
Agua Azul, Chiapas
Pajaretes in Tequilla, Jalisco
People are friendly, helpful, and kind. The food is amazing and diverse throughout the country. The topography, flora, and fauna are unique, abundant, and regional divergent. The culture and history are so assorted, complex, and rich.
Izamal (lunch stop between Merida and Valladolid)
We are so grateful to have had the chance to explore this country for the last 4 months and excited to spend another 2 months here!
