Things to do in Brisbane
Brisbane is a cool city on the East coast of Australia. We spent a week in Brisbane and really enjoyed the city! Here are a couple fun things we did:
South Bank Parklands; a fun park area near the Brisbane river, including fun slides and a water area that is always very busy.
Story Bridge; a cool and long bridge that was designed by none other than John Bradfield, the same architect for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Story Bridge definitely has many similarities to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and it's a really fun place to go!
Sea Legs Brewing Company; this is a really fun brewery right underneath the Story Bridge. We walked from our Airbnb, which was a good 2 hours there, so Sea Legs Brewing Co. was a great place to stop and have some fries and a fun game of cards.
Gallery of Modern Art; a cool gallery right next to the river that showcases a lot of Aboriginal art and quite a few modern pieces as well. This is definitely a fun way to spend a couple hours!
West End Markets; this was a very fun market that takes place on Saturday. It offers a variety of different types of foods, organic produce, clothing and jewelers. Perfect for Saturday brunch!
Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens; a really cool collection of different plants with some interesting statues peppered along it! We took the bus up to the top of the mountain, where the observatory is, and then hiked down to the Botanical Gardens. This is definitely a must when in Brisbane!
Brisbane was one of my favorite cities in Australia because of the vibe it gives (also partly because of the spectacular Dua Lipa concert that I went to ;)! It's also just a splendid city to walk around in, with cool buildings everywhere. I definitely recommend going to Brisbane if you're in the Sunshine Coast!
